List of Asian Countries

Hello friends as we have promise that we will give you variety of lists on different topics. Here we are presenting a list of countries in Asia with small geographical explanation. please have a look if you find anything wrong please let us know through comments.

1- - India

Its location is on Southern Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and Pakistan. If we talk about geographically India is the seventh largest country in the world. On the basis of population explosion India comes at second place with more than 1.2 billion people. Nonviolent resistance to British rule, led by Gandhi and Nehru, eventually brought about independence in 1947.India is a democratic country where people with different religion lives together without any problems.

2- Pakistan

It is located on Southern Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea, between India on the east and Iran and Afghanistan on the west and China in the north. Pakistan was separated from India in the 1947 war.

3 Afghanistan

It is located on the southern Asia, north and west of Pakistan, east of Iran. Ahmad Shah DURRANI unified the Pashtun tribes and founded Afghanistan in 1747. The country served as a buffer between the British and Russian Empires until it won independence from notional British control in 1919.

4- Bangladesh

Located at Southern Asia, bordering the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and India, this country is a very undeveloped country. About a third of this extremely poor country floods annually during the monsoon rainy season, hampering economic development.

5- China

For centuries China stood as a leading civilization, outpacing the rest of the world in the arts and sciences, but in the 19th and early 20th centuries, the country was beset by civil unrest, major famines, military defeats, and foreign occupation. Its capital city is Beijing and it is located on Eastern Asia, bordering the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and South China Sea, between North Korea and Vietnam.

6- Armenia

Armenia prides itself on being the first nation to formally adopt Christianity (early 4th century). Despite periods of autonomy, over the centuries Armenia came under the sway of various empires including the Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Persian, and Ottoman. It is located on Southwestern Asia, east of Turkey. Its capital is Yerevan.

7- Bahrain

It is located on the Middle East, archipelago in the Persian Gulf, east of Saudi Arabia. Its capital is Manama and it found its independence from the UK on 15th August 1971.

8- Bhutan

Bhutan is located on Southern Asia, between China and India. Its capital is Thimphu and its currency is the Ngultrum. The economy of Bhutan is the world's smallest one.

9- Myanmar

Myanmar is located on Southeastern Asia, bordering the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal, between Bangladesh and Thailand. The country is one of the poorest nations in Southeast Asia, suffering from decades of stagnation, mismanagement and isolation.

10- Hong Kong

Hong Kong is located in Eastern Asia, bordering the South China Sea and China. Hong Kong has a free market economy highly dependent on international trade and finance.

11- Indonesia

Indonesia is located in Southeastern Asia, archipelago between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Its capital is Jakarta.

12- Iran

Iran was known by Persia till 1935, and then it became an Islamic Republic.Its located in Middle East, bordering the Gulf of Oman, the Persian Gulf, and the Caspian Sea, between Iraq and Pakistan.

13- Iraq

Iraq is located on Middle East, bordering the Persian Gulf, between Iran and Kuwait. Its capital is Baghdad.

14- Israel

Israel is located on Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Egypt and Lebanon. Its capital is Jerusalem and it has a technologically advanced market economy.

15- Japan

This country is a major economic power and is located on Eastern Asia, island chain between the North Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan, east of the Korean Peninsula.

16- Jordan

Jordan is located on Middle East, northwest of Saudi Arabia. Its capital is Amman.

16- Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is located on Southwestern Asia, bordering the Caspian Sea, between Iran and Russia, with a small European portion north of the Caucasus range. Its capital is Baku and its agricultural products are cotton, grain, rice, grapes, fruit, vegetables, tea, tobacco; cattle, pigs, sheep, goats.

17- Brunei

Brunei is located on Southeastern Asia, bordering the South China Sea and Malaysia. It benefits from extensive petroleum and natural gas fields.

18- Cambodia

It is located on Southeastern Asia, bordering the Gulf of Thailand, between Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos.

19- East Timor

It is located on Southeastern Asia, northwest of Australia. Its capital is Dili.

20- Kazakhstan

It is located on Central Asia, northwest of China and its capital is Astana. Kazakhstan is divided into 14 provinces and they are subdivided into districts.

21- Korea, North

It is located on Eastern Asia, northern half of the Korean Peninsula. Its capital is Pyongyang. North Korea has an industrialized and highly centralized economy.

22- Korea, South

It is located on Eastern Asia, southern half of the Korean Peninsula. Its capital is Seoul.

23- Kuwait

Kuwait has consolidation of the role of science and technology into the growth and development of the nation. It is located on the Middle East, between Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Its capital is Kuwait City.

24- Kyrgyzstan

It is located on the Central Asia, west of China. Its capital is Bishtek.

25- Malaysia

Malaysia is a country that was successful in diversifying its economy from dependence on exports of raw materials to expansion in manufacturing, services, and tourism. Its capital is Kuala Lumpur.

26- Maldives

It is located in Southern Asia and its capital is Male. Tourism is Maldives' largest economic activity.

27- Mongolia

The Mongols gained fame in the 13th century when they established an empire. Mongolia is located on Northern Asia, between China and Russia and its capital is Ulaanbaatar.

28- Nepal

Located in Southern Asia, between China and India, Nepal is among the poorest and least developed countries in the world, with almost one-quarter of its population living below the poverty line. Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy. Its capital is Kathmandu.

29- Oman

Its located on the Middle East, bordering the Arabian Sea. Oman is a middle-income economy that is heavily dependent on dwindling oil resources.

31- Philippines

Philippines is a country that encompasses a lot of poverty, unemployment and bad infrastructure. It is located on the Southeastern Asia and its capital is Manila.

32- Qatar

Qatar has maintained its economic growth of the last several years. Oil and natural gas revenues have enabled Qatar to attain the second-highest income in the world. Its capital is Doha.

32- Russia

It is located on Northern Asia, bordering the Arctic Ocean. Russia is a country of high controversies, with long-term challenges include a shrinking workforce, a high level of corruption, and poor infrastructure in need of large capital investment. Its capital is Moscow.

33- Saudi Arabia

The exporter of oil to many other countries, Saudi Arabia is a country of much significance. It is bordered by Iraq and Jordan and is the largest Arab country of the Middle East. Its capital is Riyadh.

34- Singapore

Singapore was founded as a British trading colony in 1819. It is located on Southeastern Asia, islands between Malaysia and Indonesia.

35- Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is located on Southern Asia, island in the Indian Ocean, south of India. Its capital is Colombo.

36- Syria

It is located on Middle East, bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Its capital is Damascus. Syria is engulfed by many problems including increasing pressure on water supplies caused by heavy use in agriculture, rapid population growth, industrial expansion, and water pollution.

37- Taiwan

It is located on Eastern Asia, islands bordering the East China Sea. Its capital is Taipei.

38- Tajikistan

The Tajik people came under Russian rule in the 1860s and 1870s, but Russia's hold on Central Asia weakened following the Revolution of 1917. Its location is on Central Asia, west of China. Its capital is Dushanbe.

39- Thailand

It is bordered to the north by Burma and Lacos. Thailand's capital is Bangkok and this country enjoys a high level of literacy. Thailand is divided into 76 provinces.

40- Turkey

Turkey is bordered by eight countries. Its capital is Ankara and its divided into 81 provinces.

41- Turkmenistan

It is one of the six independent Turkish states. It is bordered by Afghanistan and its capital is Ashgabat. It is one of the driest deserts of the world.

42- United Arab Emirates

UAE is in the Middle East, between Oman and Saudi Arabia. Its capital is Abu Dhabi. The UAE has an open economy with a high income and a sizable annual trade surplus.

43- Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is a country whose major concerns nowadays are terrorism by Islamic militants, economic stagnation, and the curtailment of human rights and democratization. It is located on Central Asia, north of Afghanistan and its capital is Tashkent.

44- Vietnam

It is located on Southeastern Asia, bordering the Gulf of Thailand. Its capital is Hanoi and it is a densely-populated developing country.

45- Yemen

It is located in the Middle East, bordering the Arabian Sea. Its capital is Sanaa. Yemen is a low income country that is highly dependent on declining oil resources for revenue. Petroleum is a main source of income for them. Yemen faces difficult long term challenges, including declining water resources and a high population growth rate.
